This past weekend, Dana Point came alive as Ohana Fest 2025 took over Doheny State Beach. From September 26–28, thousands of music lovers gathered to enjoy three days of incredible performances, ocean views, and community spirit. For me, it was another great reminder of why Dana Point isn’t just a beautiful place to live—it’s a community full of culture and energy.

The lineup this year was one of the strongest yet. Green Day, Hozier, and Eddie Vedder & the Earthlings headlined, with Kings of Leon, Cage the Elephant, Leon Bridges, Garbage, and dozens more filling out the weekend. With more than 35 artists across multiple stages, our coastal city truly became the center of the Southern California music scene.

What I love most about Ohana Fest is that it goes beyond the music. A portion of the proceeds supports organizations like the Doheny State Beach Foundation, San Onofre Parks Foundation, Surfrider Foundation, Unidos South OC, Surfer’s Healing, and Life Rolls On. These contributions help protect our coastline, preserve the natural beauty we enjoy every day, and support local programs that serve families right here in South Orange County.

Ohana Fest isn’t just good for festival-goers—it’s a huge weekend for Dana Point businesses. Hotels were packed, restaurants in the Lantern District and Dana Point Harbor were bustling, and shops enjoyed steady traffic from visitors exploring the area. Many businesses count on this weekend as one of the most important of the year.
Based on past years, attendance typically averages around 14,000–15,000 people per day, and I wouldn’t be surprised if 2025 matched or even surpassed that. With visitors often staying for multiple nights, the ripple effect for our local economy is significant.
